Iconic Midtown Show

Sacramento area artists are invited to participate in Iconic Midtown Art, the July 12th Saturday Art Show at the I Street Art Studios, 1727 I Street, 95811.   The show will be included on the Midtown 2nd Saturday Art Walk and will be cosponsored by the Midtown Association.  Best of show awards will be given to recognize works that are iconic to Midtown and/or are judged to have exemplary artistic merit.

I Street Art Studios is inviting local artists to create artwork(s) depicting an iconic or local view found in Midtown, to include events, activities, businesses, locations and interesting buildings.    Both 2 and 3D works are acceptable, as is abstraction, expressionism and of course, realism.  We expect a number of plein air artists to participate. All works must be gallery ready (framed or on canvas at least 1/2 in thick, ready to hang with wire.).  There will be a submission fee of $10 per artwork, paid at the time of drop-off.  More than one artwork per artist is welcome.  Please secure pre-approval for very large or heavy artworks from chair, Lori Franz or email istreetartstudios@gmail.com.

 

All works can be listed with a price or NFS.  No commission on sales is charged by the I Street Art Studios, although you must handle your own sales or ask someone to handle them for you.  We will make your phone/text available to buyers.  You may place a Venmo code on the back/underside of your work, if you allow Venmo sales.

 

All artists wishing to participate in the show must register their intent.  Please consult the list of Midtown locations, events and activities on the I Street Art Studios website at istreetartstudios.com to see the list, get inspiration, see what sites have been chosen, and choose your location(s) to specify in your registration.  Alternately you may select a place/topic not on the list when you register. Register early if you want to claim a specific site or wait to decide your location and register later, no hurry, unless you want to lock down a certain site.  We do need registrations by the end of June. Only one or two artists per location please, so check to see if your choice is available.   The sign-up list will be available at the studio and posted with updates periodically on the website.
